The Spirit of Democracy, March 16, 1899
The Death Angel has visited our home and taken from us a loving wife and mother, Mrs. Jacob Ludwig. She spent 67 years of joy and sorrow with us, but Wednesday evening March 8, she was called away to her home on high. She leaves an aged husband and eleven children to mourn her loss; one son having preceded her to the heavenly home several years ago. She lived a consistent christian life; was a loved and respected by all who knew her. Her remains were laid to rest in the German Lutheran cemetery at Miltonsburg Friday.
Dory Egger began a two months term of school at this place Monday week. He is eating along nicely and is liked any all.
Benjamin Ackerman, who has been employed at Pittsburg the past winter, returned home Tuesday.
Lulu Filton was the guest of Mary Ankrom one day last week.
George Brooks of Hope Ridge is in this vicinity again.
