W. T. Koontz of Antioch spent Sunday with friends in Woodsfield.

Asher Okey made a business trip to Bellaire and Bridgeport Saturday.

Charley McMaster of Laings was attending to business in town last week.

Mrs. Ottilia F. Dorr has returned from an extended visit with friends in the {missing section}.

Dr. J. Way, who has been very low with pneumonia, is still in a critical condition.

W. H. Jackson has been confined to his room for several days an account of sickness.

Mr. Thornberry of Lewisville was the guest this week of his brother A. E. Thornberry.

George Ring of Poulton, on of the leading citizens of Benton township, is seriously ill.

Misses Clara Poulton and Phena Style of Wheeling are visiting relatives and friends here.

Christian Helbling, who has been severely ill for several weeks, is but a little any better.

Attorney F. L. Blackmarr of Sistersville was in attendance at court friday and Saturday.

Mrs. Jacob Keepers of Center township, is confined to her room with inflammation of the bowels.

Ed Milhone a capital good fellow from Woodsfield was in Caldwell a few days this week. --Caldwell Press.

Samuel McCool of the National supply store visited friends at Sistersville and New Matamoras last eek.

Judge J. R. Morris, who has been confined to his room for some time on account of sickness, in somewhat better.

Prosecuting Attorney Spriggs, who has been ill with the grippe for the past two weeks, is able to be on the streets again.

Charles Roth of Round Bottom, who engaged in the undertaking business of that place, dropped into our sacrum Thursday.

Gus Kilburn of Lewisville was at Woodsfield Monday. He favored his place with a friendly call and also a new subscriber.

Wood Carmichael of Stafford was here Monday and informs us that hi is leasing some tracts of land around Stafford for oil purposes.

Mr. and Mrs. John R. Scott of Jolly spent several days in Woodsfield this week on account of the sickness of Mrs. Scott's father, Dr. J. Way.

Mrs. Louisa Poulton who has been at Quaker city for the past few weeks, returned home Monday.

James Dearth of Wayne Township was here Saturday paying his tax and attending to other business.

Frank J. Ritzert was at Parkersburg on business and visits friends and relatives at Pittsburg last week.

Ward Parry of Higbee, Penn., was here last week visiting his brother Dr. John R. Parry of East Row.

J. P. Ridge, rig and tank builder of Marietta, was here last week looking after his business at this place.

Mrs. Josephene Chew and family are visiting Mrs. Chew's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Weisend of this place.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Lynch of Barnesville took their Thanksgiving dinner with Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Lynch of this place.

Elijah Brown of Agin, who has been visiting fiends and relatives in Iowa for the last three or four months, returned home Saturday.

Mrs. J. H. Eddy, who was at Haskins' Hospital at Wheeling having an operation performed for catarrh, has returned home much improved.
