I'm searching for a connection to the parents or siblings of Levi POWELL b
16 Feb 1808, in Maryland and his wife Mary LINN b 30 Aug. 1812, in MD.
Both stated their parents were born in MD.
The county is unknown. There is a reference that at some point they
lived near Harpers Ferry. They married 27 Aug. 1833 location unknown.
They were in Monroe Co., by 1834 or before.
Their first child was Rachael b. 14 Oct 1834 in Monroe Co., OH. The family
moved to Darke Co., OH in 1840. Sarah b 27 Jan 1836 in Monroe Co., Mariah b
3 Jan 1838 in Monroe Co. Other children were Minerva, David, Linn (a boy),
Adaline and Isaac.
A record dated June 1823 Belmont Co., OH indicats that Jane WARD, wife of
Aaron WARD who died 1807, remarried in 1810 to a William POWELL.
She had five children by him Reuben, Sally, James, John and Isaac POWELL.
Later generations in Darke Co., use the names Isaac, John and Reuben.
I also found a Benjamin POWELL buying land in Monroe Co., OH in June of
1823. The family in Darke Co., named a son Benjamin. Do any of these facts
connect to research some one has done locally on the POWELL's? A WARD
family later relates in Darke Co.
