Submitter: Lainie Hendrix (alley34417@aol.com)
Date: 03 Aug 1998

Hoping to find information on Matilda ADAMSON, b. 15 June 1846 in Monroe Co., OH. She is believed to be the mother of William Thomas [Miller] PRITCHARD (1871-1942). I am informed that she was a daughter of John J. ADAMSON and Nancy SMITH. It appears that they were in Monroe Co., OH, from as early as 1845 to at least 1859. The timeline is not firm. If the lead is correct, John J. ADAMSON and Nancy SMITH had at least 10 children: Sarah Jane ADAMSON, b. ca. 1840 in Monroe Co., OH; Mary ADAMSON, b. ca. 1842; Isabella ADAMSON, b. ca. 1844; Matilda, b. ca. 1846; Elizabeth ADAMSON, b. ca. 1848; Barnett ADAMSON, b. ca. 1848; Eunice ADAMSON, b. ca. 1850; William J. ADAMSON, b. ca. 1852; Nancy E. ADAMSON, b. ca. 1856; Mariah ADAMSON, b. ca. 1859. It is believed that all the children were born in Monroe Co., OH, but I have nothing more than what is shown. Matilda ADAMSON had relationships (I don't know if she was married to these men) with (1) Unknown MILLER, resulting in birth of William Thomas [Miller] PRITCHARD; (2) Unknown NOLAND, resulting in birth of Ogle NOLAND ca. 1873; (3) probable marriage to Unknown PRITCHARD (who raised her other sons), and with him she had Wesley PRITCHARD (ca. 1877) and Genittie PRITCHARD (ca. 1878). The PRITCHARD(s) were in Washington Co., OH, ca. 1900. I am hoping to make a firm connection with Matilda ADAMSON, and then her ancestors. If anyone has any information on her family, or her descendants, I would appreciate hearing from them. Or if I am off-track, I would appreciate any and all corrections and additions! I descend from William Thomas [Miller] PRITCHARD (he was my great-grandfather). Many thanks in advance! Lainie (Potts) Hendrix El Paso, TX
