David W. Dearth, age 80, of Canton, OH, passed away Saturday morning (13 Dec 2003) in the Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. Born in Graysville, OH, on May 5, 1923, he was the son of the late David A. and Carrie Dearth. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and was a retired employee of Old King Cole Plastics. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Adaline E. (Chaney) Dearth; his second wife, Naydean (Starling) Dearth; his stepmother, Flora Wilson Dearth; and also by two sisters; a stepdaughter and a stepson. Survivors include his granddaughter and caregiver, Dianna (Donald) McKinney of New Philadelphia, OH; two brothers, Jim (Sue) Dearth of Woodsfield, OH, and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Dearth of Hartville, OH; stepdaughter, Charlotte Sneff of Albuquerque, NM; son, James Beatty of North Carolina and close friends, Keith and Margaret Taylor of Canton; there are 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m.in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Howard officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Dietrich, Mrs. Sarah

Hannibal: Mrs. Sarah Dietirch, aged 61 years , wife of John Dietrich, died at her home at Buckhill Bottom Sunday evening, March 12, after an illness of six weeks from pneumonia and heart trouble. She leaves a husband and twelve grown children, six sons and six daughters. Her funeral took place Tuesday afternoon. The service were conducted by her pastor Rev. Rogatsky at the German M. E. church of which she was a devoted member. Interment in the Buckhill cemetery.

Donald C. "Don" Dimmerling, 63, of Lewisville Road, Woodsfield, Ohio, died April 21, 2003 at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, W. Va., after a hard battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 20, 1940 in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Marie Hill Dimmerling of Caldwell, Ohio and the late C. L. "Tip" Dimmerling.He was a retired lineman from Ameritech and a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Woodsfield Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2247 and the Woodsfield Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge.Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Deanna "C. Clark Dimmerling, whom he married on April 24, 1965; two sons and daughters-in-law: Darren and his wife Kathy, Drew and his wife Patty, all of Woodsfield; two brothers, Richard and his wife Leanna of Sarahsville, Ohio; Charles and his wife Kathy of Lewisville, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Don (Rose Marie) Schockling of Caldwell, Ohio, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Gaydosik of Summerfield, Ohio; twin sister, Mrs. Donna Jean Hill of Kennonsburg, Ohio and Mrs. James (Margaret Mary) McCort of Logan, Ohio. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Brett, Tye, Brittany and Katelyn Dimmerling; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles also survive him.In addition to his father, Don was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leo and Mary Dimmerling, maternal grandparents Bede and Rose Hill and a brother-in-law Dale Hill. Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, St. Rt. 78, West, Woodsfield, Wednesday, April 23, from 2 to 9 p.m. where services will be held Thursday, April 24, at 11 a.m. with the Father David Gaydosik officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield. Vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

James Doty 72, passed away Tuesday, 4:00 pm at his home in Woodsfield, Ohio. He was the father of Minnie Bergund, Madge Doty, Corilda Brown, Norman, Chester, Richard, James, & Jean Doty. He was preceded in death by his wife Amanda J.William's(Doty) Aug.16,1926, and two sons Ralph E.died Feb. 1931 & George L. Doty who died Feb. 1944. and one daughter Garnet E. Doty (Hall) in Sept. 1940.

Jewell, Elizabeth (Moores) Dunfee Unidentified News Clip in "the Scrapbook" (Died June 17, 1913) Mrs. Elizabeth Dunfee-Jewell, aged 82 years, one of Fort Wayne's oldest residents, died last night at 8 o'clock at the family home, 1920 South Harrison street. Death was due to heart trouble and followed an illness of several months. Mrs. Jewell had been bedfast for the past five weeks. Mrs. Jewell was born in Woodsfield, Ohio, November 22, 1830. Accompanied by her family, she came to Fort Wayne in 1876 and she had resided here ever since. The family is well known in Fort Wayne and Mrs. Jewell's death comes as a shock to her countless friends. She was a woman of excellent character, loved by all who knew her. Surviving are two daughters and three sons - Miss Alice Dunfee, at home; Mrs. F.W. Dunham, of Stuttgart, Ark; Charles of Oakland, Cal.; Emmett W. of Jackson, Mich.; and Harry, at home. There are two brothers - Alfred Moores and John Moores, both of Fostoria, Ohio. There are also twelve grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the First M.E. church."
